Michelle Kelsey~ I live in a small town in Missouri. I grew up in Osborn, Mo., the oldest of seven children. I loved art as a child. My grandmother sewed all the time. I loved to watch her create everything thing from doll clothes, to pillows. When I was six years old my grandmother started teaching me to sew. Oh, I could not use her sewing machine, I had to learn by hand first! My grandmother had a triplebipass when I was twelve. She was no longer able to sew for awhile. One day I was in desprite need of a bunny( that I had promised one of the little girls I babysat) so off to the sewing machine I went!! In junior high and high school, I took wood shop and every art class available. My junior year in high school two of my teachers personally drove me to College of the Ozarks in Southern, Mo. My teachers were inspired by my talent, and really wanted me to go to college. ~~I wanted to go into law, and be FREE for awhile, so I decided to take one year off after high school, which lead to 12 years off (not really time off, I was a married, stay at home mother of three) ! Although I didn't go to college at that time, I still persued my love for art, creating dolls, and wood crafts. Upon my grandmother and fathers death, I decided to go to college. Where I still am, pursuing a career in Criminal Justice. Although I love the law, I decided to take a drawing class my first year. I remember my teachers expression when he seen my first self portait, "Wow, what did you do that with?" I used a 4b pencil, and charcoal~a no,no in the art world, I think not! I had never shaded anything in my life until that point. I knew I could draw before the class, but the class taught me so much. ~~My next attempt is oil painting! Yes, I am still attending college for Criminal Justice, but I LOVE ART! Since the class, I was inspired~~to get "Inspired!" I made my first doll for Ebay last year, a GOTHIC GOBLIN for Halloween. This year I joined, BWBA (Because We Believe In Art), since joining I have created "Bellew Moon" and "Spirella"~~ stay tuned, THERE ARE MORE CREATIONS TO COME!!
